Domains Over Mutual Funds?

In this day and age I think that you have to consider alternative methods to creating wealth. Online domain names I consider to be like virtual real estate. With keywords in the domain name being a prime location for the address and the way it gets developed by good developers (like contractors) to be the house itself. the foundations that get build on the social networking aspect combined with relevancy can increase traffic into the showing of the home and bingo you have buyers, loyal visitors and a place to go and live! Anyway it's a bit of a spin on words.

Would you consider domain names to be an investment or a cost?

First of all, that is a very old article. It is outdated and some details are not currently true....

But, I sure consider domain names as an investment.

But the better domain names are all registered for a long time, even the two keyword .coms are already gone.

A chance is in the country tld's as the upcoming .asia for example.

But if you want to invest 50k or something, you can buy a great .com name and wait on it for a few years, I am sure domains keep rising and you will not loose in this market.

So you think that .com is considered one of the domains that would be easily compared to a more stable type investment?

I agree. I think that as you get into the other extensions you increase your risk level so a longer term focus is extremely important.

Oh and yes the article is old. the content on the thought of thinking about domains as an investment it not.

Yes, .com will always rule and stay on top

.com = .commerce
.net = .network
.org = .organisation

Ofcourse there are a lot of other domains in country extensions that are VERY VERY valualbe, like cities and places.

for example. amsterdam.nl would be worth at least half a million !!

.ca for Canada still has some great domains left too. So I would add that for all you guys up North with me.

I remember Hollywood.ca went for some big bucks because the .ca also means california. I agree Nomar. Thats why I picked up Niagara.tv and Worldguide.tv, I think if I had all you bloggers that travel the world doing video as you go I could post all kinds of interesting content.

Yeah, Niagara.tv is a great domain. Worldguide.tv is also great for travel.

Did you already got some offers for one of those domains??? They are sure premium..

Are you looking to sell some?? If so.. You might contact SEDO support and ask them if they could be auctioned off..

If they agree they will ask you a reserve price and than they check if that price is realistic...

Once agreed they will put it up for an open auction at SEDO. Than watch the bids come in If it don't reach your reserve price it is not going to be sold !! So you can't loose on this one!

Yeah its true. Domain name parking is doing a great deal of job and has got bright prospects in the future. I myself have tried out my hand in that. Long back i bought a domain name and recently i started the bidding for that and had a lumpsome amount. It was really cool to have that. But the fact is that these days it is a real harder task to find a domain of 3 letters.

Simply, we can compare the domain investments to the stock market investments, both as the equal amount of risks.. You may get back your money or lose your money..anything is possible in both the thing...
