Facebook Offers 85Mil for Zhanzuo.com

Quote:
Facebook has put an offer of 85 million dollars to Zhanzuo.com a chinese social networking site. Zhanzuo ranks in the Top 250 sites in China according to Alexa. This site has 7 million registered users.

I think it's a great move for Facebook, I always love to see a user website go massively huge! But will Zhanzuo really accept this offer? I'm not too familiar with these website, but I think with 7 mil users I'm sure that the advertisement cost on the site is huge as well.

Interesting I hope face book grows even bigger, but eventually it will die.. so if they sell it (they sold it?) now soon they will get insane cash for it, and in 5 years they'll see it unactive.

Well thats true. If the admins keep it nice and handle the preassure in a nice way they might survive. But atleast the youth will not stay there for longer than atleast two years. Atleast it's like that in my companionship (don't know the english word.. the people i am with), the sites can be very popular at school but after some time they get dull and a new site will become popular instead. That's how things work. But maybe the people in charge at Facebook will handle it well. Don't know really.

I think they will have great potential if they hire more chinese employees. If it's managed seperatly under the facebook ownership I think it will have great potential for the future online networking websites!

You are right about that kalle,,, young people are not staying with the same site! They want refreshments and will follow the crowd if there is something new!

I guess a redesign every year or 6 months will work, with new options etc..

One thing I think is that facebook is really getting too messy with all those applications and whatnot.
