Lightbulb [IDEA]Open Source Script Making For Hits

It has been a few days... I've been thinking of making an Open Source Script which would be a manager & CMS for web hosts. Where they can manage their pages. Manage their plans have a Support Tickets system. Hosting Application Forms. I'd like to make this to start programming again as I haven't programmed anything this month.

I was thinking of making this to help back links to my future web site. As there will be the software copyright at the bottom of the page linking to my website.

Keep in mind this would be a open source Free software for anyone to use.

What do you guys think? Is this type of software in need? Could this really contribute towards my site?

If you can make a very nice CMS system, and make it open source, it would definitely help your future sites !

But I am not sure about the web host thing... maybe make something like Joomla! ? Or is that too big? A simple and nice CMS and easy to manage would be perfect!

Well the thing is about things like Joomla. There are already so many CMS built. So I think making a CMS would be too hard to get it running and get some decent downloads...

True, but web hosts are not that much around.. I mean... you can get a fair % of the total ppl creating web hosts.. but normal ppl that want to make a simple but effective website are many many more!

But you are right about the volume in normal CMS systems like Joomla!

You already started?

Yes I agree. As the population wanting that kind of CMS is well small.

No I haven't already started... Only taught of what kind of structural organization it will have. Changing my idea will be easy, I won't have to restart anything...

Good, maybe build a kind of shop in it, were you recommend money makers for the ppl that download it. Ofcourse these recommended money makers would contain your affiliate link !

You can earn nice money with that!

Money and backlinks

What about a hosting billing software?
There are only 2 or 3 good ones.

A CMS which contains a shop?

Where you it can be connected to paypal and add items? categorize them and so on... through the admin panel?

Something like this?

Luke: Those are a tad tricky, a simple paypal one would be simple though paying direct credit card is what would be extremely tricky. I can do all the PHP aspects of it, but im not thorouly known with the methods in transfering the money through.

Yeah, where ppl have the possibility to add a shop immediately to the site! And they will register at affiliate sites through your affiliate link!

If that will take off you make a nice commision out of that!
