Do good books make good films?

Here is what I wanted to discuss with you, guys.When a book becomes a bestseller, we know that a film version is soon going to appear.But which is usually better- the book or the film?

It really depends there are good books which when converted into a movie loads of viewers complaint in it. But there are also good books which makes loads of money in the tilts like Twilight, New Moon, Harry Potter series, Da Vinci Code ,Lord of the Ring to name a few but I think good books has more edge and has huge chance of creating a good film out of it

i like the book better bec. it is original unlike if it is in the big screen they have to edit some of it like the ending and thats what i dont like

it really depends...some good books make a much better movie but theres also some instance that movies are not that good as the story of the book..

Yes I totally agree with if the book is a best seller most likely it would be in the movies like new moon.

Usually they don't, unless they are really a masterpiece, books are usually better than the movies made on them
