Wedding Niche Phase 1 Review

We are currently in what appears to be the final stages of our development of a Wedding Directory targeted towards couples in the Canadian Market.

I am especially looking for feedback on other resources which you feel would be beneficial. This is only the first phase of the sites development. We are currently working on some other integratable software with local banquet halls and other wedding vendors. A planner will also be added to allow users to use the site as an online tool for everything to do with their wedding planning. It won't be the only tool but just one for the research stages etc.

We will be adding sections to link with other blogs and we are considering adding the MyBlogLog somewhere to create some awareness maybe in the forums section. We have yet to finalize alot of details so I'm open to pointers that we may have overlooked while being totally focused on it as our own.

When I open the site, it gives me a warm welcome. I like the logo with the hearts. Really nice job. The city clicking is also nice and there are a lot of options to choose from once you choose the city!

This could be heading towards a success. The domain is great to.

About the forum: Maybe place a smaller adsense ad next to the logo. That will give you a better CTR !!

Also you might use another skin for the forum, one that fits the colors.

After this you might consider hiring a paid service team of around 5 people for a total of $ 40 or something, these guys get the forum started and you should be very active in replying and creating new threads also !

If you have a lot of posts on the forum, they will get indexed and this will drive traffic to your site !!

great job man. logo looks very cool ...
and site looks pretty neat and clean...
I have a suggestion for you.
when user open your website it should go directly to your main page instead of asking the zip code or selecting the location.
you can ask this later. but when user should open the site.it should display the main page.
and remaning site is good.

You have some great feed back everyone. We just made it so that Both The directory adverts and the Banner Adverts showcase based on the proximity closest to the actual user or they can select the region based on the City Hall Postal code.

The way the data base works they would require the first page for now with the postal code but we are looking to jazz that up a bit and add some more content..... *keywords etc * wink * wink and a nice photo of a couple or just rotate between a man and a women as we all know couples can be both genders and we would not want to stereo type

We will be agressively promoting the site offline. My challenge is now getting traffic and registered users to the Forums

I am also thinking about adding a Wedding Blogs somewhere to showcase peoples blogs, and also adding our own blog installed on the site.

Coming soon is also a Bridal Classifieds like Sellit365.com

This way we can leverage social media on various components and drive traffic to sections of the property
