Whats the exact difference between the Panda Update and Penguin Update?

I wanted to know, what's the actual difference between Panda Update and Penguin Update?

Panda Update was solely targeted against duplicate, spun and otherwise low quality content. Penguin update aims to control all types of webspam (cloaking, unnatural linking, spamming etc) and over-optimization.

Both updates are alive and kicking. They are need to control spam and offer better search results to users.

I totally agree with C.Rebecca...We all aware about Panda but what about Penguin and why Google introduce Penguin in their algorithm?

Hi all,

Google panda and penguin are algorithm changes. Panda algorithm is to target websites which got low quality contents and Penguin algorithm targets over - optimization.

Panda was about the duplicate content and stuff like this on web and penguin is hitting not only the duplicate stuff but also the cheep ways of getting backlinks and especially the Blog networks.

Panda update deals with content on the site whereas penguin update deals with black hat seo.
