FLV - Flash Video inline + PHPBB or Vbulletin

I'm very interested in getting going with FLV within threads on PHPBB (preferred) or VBulletin. Anyone have any knowledge in this?

Anyone have their preferred methods of converting mpg / avi to FLV?

How about adbright video? Anyone here ever run ads through them. I would be using their sister site that does video for mature material, but I'm sure they all operate the same.

FLV is a big market. CNN and other big names have been capitalizing on commercials before streamed video for some time now, why not us little guys as well.

I don't have any method, but if you have a valid vB license I guarantee there is some mod for it on vBulletin.org.

Because it takes a lot of infrastructure and a strong connection with the people hosting the video. The little guy needs to get little advertisers who probably don't have video ads developed or their pricing set. That’s not to say you shouldn’t try, it’s just not something that’s easy to do for most people, that said your success would probably lead to a point where you could monetize it by helping others do it, or setting the standard for other ‘little guys’.

I currently don't have a Vbulletin board running but was considering converting my PHPBB boards to Vbulletin.

I'm going to give it a try.. Here is what I'm thinking.

We produce 15 clips in a month there abouts. Of those 15 usually 5 are "teaser" clips. A type of free "highlights reel" that we then disperse links to various webmasters that have signed up for our referral programs.

I'm going to offer a static image ad in the beginning of every free video and make it an FLV. Try to make a little money for the bandwidth I'm tossing down the drain every month.

I get that's what adbright video does. They don't give you some great TV quality advertisment but rather a static image ad.

I'll post updates on my progress.

That makes sense to me as it is probably easier to stick an FLV ad in front of another FLV video compared to trying to get a .jpg or .png to work well. If your visitors can see the video they can see the ad which would definitely be something important to advertisers.

Have you decided how you are going to show the FLV files to your visitors? (AKA have you picked a script yet?)

I'm interested in providing vidoe content porn or not woudl be really interested to hear how you get on with your project and which approach you choose.

I would like to set up a candidates site for people looking for jobs where they can log in and post their intro on cam for play back by potential employers to improve the screeneing process as well as a bit of porn for my dating sites of course to advertise but hey sex sells
