Figuring out, which hosting is faster?

I've been searching quite a bit here and there for tools that checks speeds of web hosters from different locations. I know you can use the Windows Command Prompt feature ping. But being in Asia it does not give me a big insight on speed.

I think this would be interesting to find out these certain tools! Anyone Know?

dont know about any tools...but as far as hosting goes i like dreamhost a lot.....i have imagehosting site hosted on them and the speeds are pretty amazing....
